Father of groom accidentally shot dead by guest during son’s wedding

This is the horrifying moment the father of a groom was shot dead during an Indian wedding when he was blasted in the head during gunfire celebrations.

< p>Mansoor Patel was celebrating the marriage of his son Shekhar in India, when a guest accidentally shot him from just a few meters away.

Footage, believed to have been captured in Madhya Pradesh, shows the moment the 38-year-old appears on screen, seemingly dancing and enjoying himself.

Men can be seen firing rifles into the air and reloading as music plays in the background during the celebration.

But moments later, and as another gunshot rings out, the video - posted on LiveLeak - shows Patel collapsing to the floor.

In the seconds before the fatal shot, a man to the left of the screen can be seen holding his weapon horizontally in the direction of the groom's father, Dailymail reports

Similar deaths have been reported in other countries in recent years.

In December, a wedding guest in Iraq was shot dead at point-blank range when a man lost control of his Kalashnikov while firing it in the air to celebrate.

Footage taken in Iraq showed a man shooting his weapon while crowds cheer and clap during the ceremony.

But seconds later he appears to lose control of the gun, shooting a man standing inches in front of him in the back of the head.

In June, a young woman was killed after being shot in the head by celebratory gunfire at a wedding in northern France.

The 19-year-old was in the street when the shots were fired from a procession of cars involved in another wedding taking place in the town.
