Selena Gomez says she's the happiest she's ever been now that her past relationship is behind her.

The 22-year-old singer opened up in an intimate interview with James Franco for her cover of the spring issue of V Magazine Issue 94 and shares “I feel the best I’ve ever felt in my life.”

“Super stoked that I’ve got some bumps on me, some scars, some bruises. I actually love that,” Gomez tells the magazine. “And I don’t mean that in a morbid way. It was great to experience really beautiful things, and then, you know, have the growing pains, in every possible manner, in every relationship”

The singer, who was on again off again with “Baby” singer Justin Bieber, says that she really learned from her relationship with him and her next relationship will be “much different.”

Regardless of the troubled relationship with her ex, she explains she “would never take it back in a million years” and she was hearing so many things that she didn’t know who to believe.

"It almost felt like all we had was each other, like the world was against us, in a way,” Gomez explained. “It almost felt like all we had was each other, like the world was against us, in a way. It was really weird but it was incredible.”

The actress not only experienced a bad break-up last year, she also admitted that paparazzi and media were getting to her, causing a lot of anxiety and even depression.

It got to the point where she didn’t leave her house much for a few months.

“I think I drove myself crazy for a little bit. It was just easier to say, Hey, do you mind running to the grocery store and picking some stuff up, I don’t want to get photographed,” told the mag.

“As much as I don’t like to wake up and think about that it’s there, it’s naturally just there. My response was to stay in, which sucked. That’s what I was trying to fix this past year, I’m finally getting a little bit more comfortable,” she added.

The singer believes that this coming year will be “incredible” for her and she used the past years as a time to grow.

“You can’t help but have some troubles here and there. I don’t think it’s a smooth process for anyone,” Gomez said.
